HMMA Shares the Joy of Reading with Local Students
On March 1, 2013, Team Members from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama visited kindergarten and first grade students at Southlawn Elementary School to take part in Read Across America, the nation’s largest celebration of reading.
HMMA Team Members gave the children a fun-filled morning of story-telling as they read the famous Dr. Seuss tales “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Cat in the Hat.” The Team Members led the students in a rhyming game, and even dressed up as a few of Seuss’ classic characters to help bring the stories to life.
Each year, students across the United States celebrate the joy of reading during the National Education Association’s Read Across America program. The nation-wide program focuses on motivating children to read while also commemorating the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. This was the seventh consecutive year that HMMA participated in Read Across America.
